Seer
Each night you choose one player and learn whether they are a werewolf. The seat with the most information on the village side — and the seat the wolves most want dead. In Mafia-style games this role is called the Cop or Detective (or the Fortune Teller in some werewolf traditions); in MAFIA it is the Seer.
At a Glance
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Faction | Village |
| Win condition | Eliminate every werewolf, with no third faction (such as the Fox) left alive |
| First night | Automatic — you are told one player who is 'Not' a werewolf (no choice; the target is random) |
| Night 2 onward | Choose one player each night and learn 'Werewolf' or 'Not' |
| Special | Divining the Fox kills it (see below) |
How to read the results
The result only ever distinguishes werewolf or not.
- The Madman reads 'Not' (no ability, but wins with the wolves)
- The Fox reads 'Not' (a third party — but not a werewolf)
∴ 'Not' means exactly "this player is not a wolf" — it is not proof of a friend.
Result quick table
| Divined player | Result | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Werewolf | 'Werewolf' | — |
| Villager / village power role | 'Not' | — |
| Madman | 'Not' | wolf-aligned yet reads 'Not' — the easiest result to misread |
| Fox | 'Not' | but dies the moment it is divined (Night 2 onward) |
The result is that binary — it never names the role (a 'Not' could be a Villager, the Knight, the Witch — you cannot tell).
The divination kill: divining the Fox kills it
In decks with a Fox, if the player you divine is the Fox, they die on the spot. This pierces the guard — the Fox dies even if the Knight is protecting it.
🔴 The automatic first-night result never triggers the kill. On the first night you didn't choose a target, so it is a notification, not the ability firing. ∴ In a Fox deck, the 'Not' you received on the first night can still be a living Fox.
The full list of what does and doesn't kill the Fox is in the Fox role guide.
